I read about the advices about transporting your car before reaching out.
First you can check whether the company is legitimate on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration website, be it a broker or actual transporter. Just do a Carrier Search (The review doesn't allow me to paste the link. )
You can easily find the Docket/USDOT Number on Avon's website, which is a good signal to me. Some other companies don't provide these numbers. They could still be legitimate because I found them using their DBA names. It's just their website doesn't contain this information.
That said. I like it that Avon puts the key info directly on the page.
Teddy gave me a very nice quote: $225 from Irvine to San Jose. Beats every other quote I received. I am flexible with pick-up date and he got me someone the next day. Unfortunately the truck had some problem and delayed one day. I didn't need the car urgently, but I had to arrange friends taking care of the pick up.
The car arrived at my place the next day, a few hours earlier than I anticipated. Still fine for me.
One thing to note is that, Avon function as a broker and they just match me with some carrier. It worked for me.
Overall it's good experience.
