Good Experience, but a bit expensive

The folks at Bears were very friendly, helpful and straight-forward. Transported a 2001 Jag XK8 from Florida to Hawaii. Enclosed transporter overland from FL to CA and then by Matson by ship to Honolulu.

2272.00 Original Quote

1498.00 (1200.00 to Driver and 298.00 to Bears)
974.00 to Matson

2472.00 Final Price

Took 21 days from pickup to delivery (included a long 4th of July weekend)

I made the mistake to wait until a Tuesday to expect a pickup by the weekend since my shipper was leaving the next Monday. This incurred a rush-charge of $200. But Bears couldn't find a driver by the weekend, scrambled to find one by the following Tuesday and luckily my shippers in Florida were able to delay their departure. I was still charged a rushing fee.

Lesson learned: give them at least a week from finalizing the deal to expecting pickup. Different parts of the country may be faster or slower depending upon location.

Bears kept us informed the entire time, were friendly, helpful and transparent. I'd use them again, but would be interested to see if others would have still charged the rush fee.

Overall, really good experience.

Thank you Mike for your business and review. Pricing can vary for different situations - yours was one that needed immediate attention and therefore required any expedited rate. Although p/up was delayed -delivery was still in time as requested to meet the vessel- which was key for you.
