Shady extra fees

Original quote was $775 which was matched by several companies, but decided to go with these guys because of good reviews. Wanted pickup by Jan 19 but company couldn't find a driver until Feb 9th, and at that point they said it would be $925 instead. I wasn't happy, but there were snowstorms and I didn't want to look for another quote, so I agreed.

They billed my credit card for deposit and it was denied. My credit card company had detected charges in different states and when this charge from Florida came in they denied to protect me from credit card fraud. Best called me to let me know, I checked with my credit card company and they re-enabled the card. All good, right?

Best Transport said they had to charge an extra $10 fee because of the denied credit card auth! I work in e-commerce with credit card online payment systems, and I have never heard of this, nor had my credit card company. That's the whole point of credit cards vs checks. Coupled with the increase from $775 to $925, definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

Company just found an independent driver, wasn't involved in the actual shipment of my car.
