Dishonest, Unethical, Don't be Victimized

Best Way Auto Transport appears to be running some sort of scam. This company was scheduled to pick up my SUV to be transported across the United States. I was promised (several times) that my car would be shipped in an ENCLOSED carrier.

I called the company more than once to confirm that my vehicle would be shipped enclosed (it is a brand new, expensive car and I wanted to make sure that my investment would be protected, as most car owners do- an enclosed carrier was my first priority) and was told every time that it would be enclosed. My father also called to ask questions and he too was told that the shipment would be enclosed, NOT OPENED.

I authorized a $200 deposit charged to my debit card with the understanding that Best Way Auto Transport would provide the services that were agreed upon. Only during my last call to confirm an enclosed carrier was I told that the carrier would be open and that I would not be provided with an enclosed carrier as I was quoted.

I let the representative know that this was not the agreement and that if they were unable to provide the services they themselves promised me, that I would like my money back and would go elsewhere. I was told that I would not receive my deposit back. Both the manager and the representative (Rich and Sheldon) were rude and unprofessional using phrases such as "let's not be stupid here". Intentionally lying to get your money by misrepresentation is fraud. Do not entrust your valuable vehicle to this company. My father was told that the enclosed carrier we were originally promised would now cost over $2,000.

Beware of Best Way Auto. You become trapped after they do not provide the services you have agreed upon. Because you have already paid the deposit, there is no way to get this money back after you find out that you were cheated. I had to file a complaint with the BBB already and have closed my checking account, as I do not trust that this company will not try to take more UNAUTHORIZED funds from my account.

We are going to file a class action suit requesting compensation due us plus punitive damages from these low lifes. It is time that they went out of business. We will be contacting their many other victims to have them join the suit.

Our next step is to contact the NY State Dept. of Consumer Fraud/Affairs. More to come later...

THIS CUSTOMER WAS FULLY AWARE THAT THE PRICE OF SHIPPING THEIR VEHICLE ENCLOSED WAS ALMOST DOUBLE THE PRICE OF OPEN, RICH THE SALESMAN HAD INFORMED THE FATHER OF THAT DURING THE FIRST CALL. HE ASKED THE CUSTOMER IF HE HAD CALLED OTHER TRANSPORTERS, HE INDICATED THAT HE DID AND THE PRICE WAS BETWEEN $1700.00 AND $2200.00, THE CUSTOMER INDICATED THAT HE WANTED TO SHIP OPEN, AND THAT HE DID NOT WANT TO SPEND THAT MUCH MONEY, AS A RESULT WE BOOKED THE CAR ON AN OPEN TRUCK. THE CUSTOMER PROCEEDED TO CALL US ON OR ABOUT THE DAY OF PICKUP AND SAID ARE WE SENDING AN ENCLOSED TRUCK TO PICKUP THE TRUCK, WE INDICATED THAT WE ARE NOT , SINCE YOU CONTRACTED FOR AN OPEN TRUCK, THE FATHER PROCEEDED TO RANT AND RAVE, THAT HE WANTED AN ENCLOSED TRUCK, THE FINAL RESULT WAS THAT THE CUSTOMER CANCELLED THE ORDER. I SAID THAT THERE IS A $200.00 CANCELLATION FEE, [ONCE A TRUCK IS BOOKED]. ACCORDING TO THE CONTRACT TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND HE HUNG UP. WE HAVE ONLY TAKEN THE $200.00 DEPOSIT WHICH WAS FULLY AUTHORIZED AND SIGNED FOR BY THE CUSTOMER. LATER ON WE RECEIVED A COMPLAINT FROM THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, AND ANSWERED IT THE SAME DAY RECEIVED INDICATING THAT THE CUSTOMER WAS AN OUT AND OUT LIAR AND THAT NOWHERE IN THE CONTRACT DID IT INDICATE AN ENCLOSED TRUCK. IT SEEMS THAT THIS CUSTOMER HAS NOTHING ELSE TO DO WITH HIS TIME, BUT TRY TO CAUSE TROUBLE. IF THIS CUSTOMER CONTINUES WITH THESE IDIOTIC ANTICS, WE WILL HAVE NO RECOURSE BUT TO INSTITUTE SUIT AGAINST HIM AND HIS DAUGHTER FOR SLANDER AND HARRASSMENT.
