Delivery background - The agreed-upon destination for the car was "Milwaukee". I live about two hours from any destination that would have been most convenient to the driver, i.e. all truck stops south of Milwaukee. I needed to accept the car from the driver, then get it home.
Wednesday, June 19 - My initial contact with Bulldog Trucking was a conversation with Ashley. Early in the conversation I realized that Ashley was obviously interested in making the delivery as convenient for me as possible. After understanding my situation, we discussed possible meeting locations convenient to me.
Wednesday, June 19 - Shortly after my conversation with Ashley, Joey-Dawn called and advised that they had selected a meeting location that was 30-40 minutes closer to my home than any truck stop south of Milwaukee would have been.
Friday, June 21 - Joey-Dawn called (early in the day) and advised that the meeting would occur between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25. This was very convenient for me because it meant I would have a partner available to drive the car back home. Otherwise, I would have had to rent towing equipment. She also agreed that she and I should talk before I left home to verify the driver's expected arrival time at the meeting place.
Tuesday, June 25 - Joey-Dawn called advising that the driver had encountered some delays en-route and would have difficulty making the 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM meeting window. We discussed some options which she would explore.
Tuesday, June 25 - Joey-Dawn called to advise the driver would meet me at about 7:00 PM and he would call me when he had solid information about his ETA.
Tuesday, June 25 - Driver Shane Crockett called to discuss a meeting time. We agreed 8:00 PM was the most suitable time. Compared to the initial "earliest" time of 4:00 PM, this was a bonus for me. My partner would not have to leave work early to get to the meeting by 4:00 PM.
Tuesday, June 25, 7:30 PM - I called driver Shane Crockett to advise I was at the delivery location. He advised that he had already determined the location was too small, and he had selected a different location nearby and was, at the time, unloading the car.
Tuesday, June 25, 8:00 PM - After meeting Shane Crockett, I learned that he is very much a professional and interested, primarily, in making sure his customer is satisfied. He was friendly, open in his conversation, helpful and clearly happy to be doing what he was doing. After he carefully maneuvered his rig to exit the lot, he noticed us having difficulty installing a license plate. He stopped and offered to do it for is, or lend us a tool we may have needed. We declined and thanked him, and he took off. The man CARES!
Summary - I've never before dealt with a vehicle transport company. Bulldog Trucking is my first. And am I glad we picked them! As you read, this delivery could very well have gone badly. And, I believe, because of their strong commitment to serving their customers, Bulldog Trucking managed to make this one a terrific experience for me and the shipper.
1. They met the shipper at a time and location convenient to him.
2. They selected a meeting place, day and time very convenient to me.
3. They kept me advised of the delivery status as it changed.
4. They adjusted their other deliveries to accommodate me.
5. All of their staff convinced me they really cared about me.
6. I firmly believe Bulldog Trucking is determined to establish themselves as the
Premier Provider of Customer Service Oriented Privately Owned Vehicle Transport.
