As a broker, industry standards stated first, after the carrier is contracted with, carriers ask the broker to back out of the transaction, as their part of the transaction is complete.
Now for this transport...we verified that the vehicle was dropped at the shipper in Anchorage, AK and enroute via the first leg of the trip, and did confirm with customer. After verifying with carrier that vehicle was in Seattle, WA, we then verified with second carrier pick up and estimated delivery dates and advised customer.
The information provided in this review is the first we knew of the incident and goings on with this carrier, and although those circumstances are our of our hands, we would gladly have acted on behalf and dealt with customer and carrier had we known.
There is no excuse for what the carrier may have done, for sure, however, we can not intervene if we are not made aware of the situation. We are always available for our customers from beginning to end, we do however provide the driver information to our customers and allow them to choose whom they wish to contact.
Our apologies for this less than smooth transport and hopefully we will all have learned from this experience.
