In October, 2007, I contracted with CSL Auto Transport to transport a brand new exotic car from the manufacturer in OH to my home in CT. My contact was Chris Leeper who was very nice on the phone and assured me that his company knew how to transport this type of car…including using wheel restraints rather than tie straps on frame or suspension components. However, the car was damaged in transit and I pursued damages from the insurance company. I found out that CSL had subcontracted the move to Sparks Sales & Service in New Carlisle, OH. Sparks totally botched the move and the car sustained considerable cosmetic damage (including gas tank and suspension damage because they didn’t use wheel restraints…as promised by CSL). It has taken me over a year of constant battle with their insurance company (Great West) to get final payment (still below what I claimed). During my battles with Great West, CSL/Chris took himself out of the process and said it was up to Sparks’ insurance to make good (even though I contracted with CSL). Early in 2008, Chris offered to give me my $1000 back for the botched transport. During April of 2008, Chris said he would refund my money for the shipping ($1000). I followed-up with him in April and again in June when he said he had sent me a check #5561 “a couple of months ago”. I never received a check. He then said he would credit $1000 to my credit card and even gave me a “transaction ID” number. I never received any credit from CSL (my credit card company confirmed there was no such credit given to me). So, in addition to damaging my car during the move, he repeatedly lied to me about giving me my money back. I would NEVER recommend CSL for ANY business!
