I did look through Transport Reviews before I chose a broker for auto transporters. Talking to a few brokers, I did not know but realized that it was tough to get a car outside of California and to deliver my car in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Some auto carrier brokers REFUSED to try to find an auto carrier because they claim that the Mount Pleasant was out of the way for auto carrier routes. When I contacted Cascade, I believe I found a serious and dedicated person. Even though I had not decided on a broker, Brandi was knowledgable about the auto carrier business and had a genuine interest in my situation. She explained to me that all brokers rely on a computerized electronic bulletin board that details the auto carrier routes in the United States. Since all brokers rely on the same bulletin board, it is interesting to me that some auto carrier brokers refused to help me while Brandi was willing to take on my request. I probably talked to Brandi for about 25 minutes before deciding on Cascade. She told me that they recently delivered a truck to St. Sault Marie, MI, so I felt that they had experience in bringing a car to less populated areas.
I requested car pick-up about three weeks before my first day of availability, which is July 31st. I know Brandi had to work with an extremely limited number of carriers who were willing to go to Mount Pleasant. She was persistent and negotiated hard to find a carrier that would transport my 2004 Toyota Matrix. I was extremely impressed that she found a carrier to pick up my car on August 4th for a total of $1210. I found out that she took in a lower amount of profit than usual in order for my price to be reasonable. They probably worked harder for my auto transport compared to other cars, and it's amazing that they are willing to take in a lower profit share.
Unfortunately, the car carrier, V & P Auto Carriers, did not show up on August 4th and did not communicate clearly to Cascade or me on why they were not able to pick up. Immediately, Brandi offered to find another carrier, and I agreed. She found another carrier, US Cargo Enterprise, to pick up my car the next day, August 5th for $1260. I agreed to that price. The driver was in Los Angeles around 3 pm, and my car was located at San Bernardino, about 60 miles east of LA. The driver was not aware that he will confront LA traffic and he arrived at San Bernardino around 8 pm.
I was happy that the car was picked up. He suggested that the car would arrive on July 12th, Tuesday. When I called the driver on the 11th, the driver changed the target delivery dates on either July 12th or July 13th. I finally received my car on July 13th, Wednesday, around 5 pm. The car came in good condition. There were some minor scratches on the paint, but I didn't feel it was worth telling the insurance company.
I just want to thank Brandi at Cascade for working very hard and being able to find a carrier quickly. I know she had to work hard to find carriers to take my car out of California and into an out-of-way town in Michigan. I know she was working with a limited number of carriers that were willing to go to Mount Pleasant. I would highly recommend Cascade to everyone! I felt Brandi really cared about my situation, and I appreciate her honesty on the difficulty of finding a carrier between California and Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Other carriers refused to help me, and Cascade came through for me.
