Suzanne,
You had a 24 hour window for pick up which we found a carrier to accomodate. We had your car picked up with in the time frame we states us to find a carrier. Our emails that go out are based from our system to notify you when changes happen in our system. It states in our terms and conditions:
The normal pickup timeframe is 1 to 10 business days. Pickup and delivery dates are contingent upon carrier availability and season. All dates and times given are an approximation. We cannot guarantee exact dates or times of when the vehicle will be picked up or delivered. Carriers may be subject to delays. Cascade Vehicle Shipping, Inc. will not be held responsible for any expense related to a delay (car rental fees, storage fees, accommodation fees, etc.)
As for the delivery, it is an estimate, based on the truck, there was no guaranteed time. We do not have written confimation. We have never asked anyone to sign anything for an order because we work for free until the vehicle is picked up. When you give your deposit information you are entering a verbal agreement that you are working with our company.
As for hiring Cascade, yes you hired us to find you a transport company, which we did. Our terms and conditions:
Cascade Vehicle Shipping, Inc. is an agent for you. We arrange for the transportation of the vehicle by finding an appropriate carrier. We do not own trucks or physically transport the vehicle. Our services end when the carrier is assigned and contacts you regarding pickup and delivery of the vehicle.
As for the damage to the vehicle our terms state:
Cascade Vehicle Shipping, Inc. will perform due diligence to insure carriers are fully insured. Carriers are responsible for the vehicle while the vehicle is in their possession. Cascade Vehicle Shipping, Inc. is not responsible for any damage done to the vehicle while in the carrier’s possession.
If damage to the vehicle should occur, all money owed for the transport must be paid to the carrier to initiate a claim. Damage must be properly noted on the Bill of Lading and signed by both the carrier and shipper (or agent). Without proper notation of damage on the carrier’s Bill of Lading, shipper (or agent) verifies that the vehicle was received in good condition. Cascade Vehicle Shipping, Inc. must be notified by phone within 24 hours of delivery of the damage. Cascade Vehicle Shipping, Inc. will support shipper (or agent) in filing insurance claims. Claims are to be filed directly with the carrier’s insurance. If the vehicle is valued at a higher than market rate, we suggest you purchase a special insurance rider.
You never notified Cascade that there was a problem with the vehicle. We would have gotten you their insurance information.
You chose our company because Cascade and our sister company are number 1 in the industry right now. That is why you chose us. We have no control over what the carrier does while the vehicle is in their possession.
We are sorry that you had a poor experience with this shipment. Nick has done an excellent job in responding to every email you have sent, and answered your phone calls every time you called. He did his job and as you can see from other reviews he has received recently, doing his job correctly. We are sorry if you feel that you did not get the service that you thought you were going to get.
Thanks
