Confusion on payment to carrier

Cascade vehicle shipping was very accomodating in getting my vehicle shipped to Colorado. The only confusion/concern was on payment to the carrier at destination. I was contacted by the carrier on Sun evening to let me know the vehicle would be delivered on Mon morning as requested. They told me I needed to have cash or money order at delivery. When I set up the delivery I had asked that pay by credit card for the entire shipment which was agreed to and is what I expected.
What I found out from the carrier was that they accepted the vehicle for shipment based upon it being COD upon delivery. The vehicle carrier was great and was very helpful at pickup but failed to inform me it was COD at delivery. I didn't ask about any payments as I was under the assumption that I had payed by credit card for the entire shipment.
Once notified by the carrier on Sun evening it was not possible to got to a bank as nothing was open plus I needed to confirm that I would not be double paying for the shipment as I thought my credit card had been charged (what was set up) vs paying in cash at delivery. I had to wait until Cascade was open Mon morning to confirm what had happened but in the meantime I went and got cash from two different ATM's to allow me to pay the carrier directly. I didn't want to hold him up but he could release the vehicle to me until he had been payed. It was miscommunication on changes to the shipping details due to some company issues (people on leave etc.). Worked out in the end and as I said the actual carrier was really professional.

Michael, Sorry about the confusion for payment, we had talked about the payment on credit card and then paying at delivery. It was taking too long to find a carrier to take a credit card so we switched to a payment on delivery to help your situation. I am sorry if that was not clarified correctly.
