Originally was going to go with autotransport 123, but they defaulted on when Jerard said they would have a carrier, so I called cavalier since they were another company that quoted me. Tyra was the rep who picked up and basically found me a transported on the spot. At that point I had to cancel with autotransport, but it turned out to be the best decision I had made in a while.
The original path I wanted was to get the car all the way to Cedar Rapids, IA, but the driver didn't want to come there since the hub was in chicago. We agreed upon a middle ground of Davenport, IA, which was about an hour away from Cedar rapids, at an extra cost of $75 (was originally quoted $850 to chicago, just to get a driver). This was unbelievably reasonable, but on top of that I had asked Tyra to keep it to $900 and he said Cavelier would absorb the extra $25 which was amazing.
Took longer than expected to cancel with auto transport, but once that was resolved, Tyra got my info and set me up to have my Datsun picked up. The driver was a little late due to a mechanical issue that left him stranded in Miami before getting my car, but I was in the loop the entire time and really it casued no issues on my end. I had to ask some friends to help load the car up and it didn't matter since it was still the weekend.
After it was loaded, I kept in good contact with the driver. The day he was going to drop of he told me to meet him at 2pm, but that turned into 3pm, then 5pm, which was ok by me ( didn't need to leave work early), but it was an hour drive to the meeting spot. About 30 min into my drive, he contacted me again pushing it back another few hours to 7pm. That sorta had me agitated, but I just got some dinner and waited for him to come. He met me and got the car unloaded fairly quick, was a great guy to chat with and explained why he was late and apologized for the delay. After hearing his story, I'm glad he even made it there by 7pm.
All in all I had a great experience with Caviler after autotransport basically screwed me over and lied to me. Tyra was a great contact who helped me every step of the way and gave me options and advice for dealing with autotransport which is above and beyond what I would have expected. Caviler had a very personal feel, and I would not hesitate to contact them again for another transport.
