unfortunately i was told things that just were not true , being the first time i used a company like this , i was not aware of the fact that i should have read some bbb reviews , had i done that i never would have chosen this mickey mouse outfit , i needed an inop 64 chev impala ss shipped from ok. to maine , and contacted caviness and was assured that this would be no problem and was quoted what turned out to be a low ball price ,i explained the vehicle was for restoration and i wasn't sure what condition it was in , i was told by caviness that condition was unimportant and they had vehicles hauled that were in very poor condition , with all sorts of issues and not to worry, they could handle it.Pick -up would be about 7- 10 days . i sent my 100.00 deposit and after 10 days i called them and asked where we were at , i was told they were working on it.They contacted me a day or two later and said that they had a person to pick up the vehicle but the price had gone up an additional 155.00 dollars , i reluctantly agreed , i wanted the car delivered , they then informed me of all these issues where as the vehicle pick-up location wasn't popular and my location in maine also wasn't very good for prospects , i guess they just figured out after however many years they have been in business that geographical locations matter , However none of these issues came up before they got the deposit , everything was perfect. They quoted me one price and realized they couldn't get it done for that amount . The driver did show to get the car but the wheels didn't roll so he drove off , said it don't roll it don't go .They told me they could haul damn near anything ( NOT TRUE) . I contacted them several times , and got ZERO satisfaction so i found a hauler on my own that i will gladly give the name to anyone who requests it, he is super, he said if i tell ya i'm gonna get it i'll get it , and my car is in fact on its way now just a few days after initial contact. As far as Caviness goes I gave them ample time from June 16 until Aug 5 and they flunked, that was way more than 7 - 10 days. I see by their reviews they spend an awful lot of time defending their faults ,blaming the trucker or even the customer, maybe they should spend some of that time and effort into giving honest quotes and not telling people anything to get them hooked , remember honesty IS the best policy . I obviously lost 100.00 dollars but gained a very valuable lesson . I am sure someone at caviness will rebut this but it doesn't matter because like i said you spend way to much time on defense , and not paying attention to business , bear that in mind when you reply, everyone can see the obvious . Good companies don't have to spend all their time making excuses , also remember the customer is always right. Just a couple of thoughts you should keep in mind , to help your business, although i'll never use it again BEWARE
