This was our first time using a car transport service. After scouring the internet and reading dozens of reviews, we stumbled upon Coastal Car Transport. In an ocean of mediocre reviews, our interest was piqued because Coastal Car Transport literally had 5-stars. It seemed too good to be true. But after having used them to transport our beloved Honda Pilot from Washington DC to my wife’s sister in West Texas, I can see why they get 5- stars.
We initially submitted a request for an estimate via their website. Shawn immediately responded with a quote. Since we were not yet ready to transport our car, we did not reply back to him until almost two months later. We asked him if the quote was still good. It was. A couple of days later (a Saturday), we informed Shawn that we were ready to transport our Honda. By Monday, he called and told us that he'd found a transporter in the DC area that was headed to Texas and New Mexico.
The owner of the transporter called us to arrange and confirm a time. The driver of the transporter called when he was on his way over. Everyone was very professional.
Shawn then asked to charge a down payment on our credit card (approx a third of the total) and then the rest would be due to the driver at the time of delivery at its final destination via cashiers check or money order.
Shawn and the owner of the transporter were easily accessible while the car was in transit and answered all of our questions.
The car was safely delivered to my wife’s sister (2000 miles away) by Saturday. The Honda was in the exact same condition as it was when it left us. It just needed a good wash from all that Texas dust. :)
If we ever need to use a transportation service again, we’re calling Shawn at Coastal Car Transport again. Thanks, everyone...you took something stressful and made it easy!
