This company has been shady from the start. After paying in advance and being given a pickup date, I was called by the transporter and told my car needed to be picked up earlier than we had been told. I called Countrywide to asked why the change and was told there was nothing they could do. When I asked why, the guy on the phone (didn't get a name) was extremely rude and told me I could take my business elsewhere. A cute thing to say seeing as I had already paid them.

Ok...so it was gonna be a small inconvience since I was still using the car, but on the bright side I was told by the transporter that the car would be at my destination in 5 or 6 days since it was the last one on the truck and they would leave that day. After it didn't arrive on the 7th day and not hearing from either Countrywide or the transporter, I called both places and got the run around. Countrywide said they'd call the transporter and call me back...didn't happen. The transporter told me it would be there in 2 days..then 3...then 4. On the 4th day after the stated delivery date and I get a call from the transporter saying that Countrywide never paid them so they would not release my car to me. I told them their beef is with countrywide and not me since I had showed them my reciept when they picked up the car, but they said it doesn't work that way. They would not release the car until countrywide paid them...period. The guy told me his company called countrywide numerous times, but they never paid them. Countrywide insisted they paid the guy. Back and forth. I finally had to get them both on a 3-way call and countrywide finally admitted that the transporter was not paid.

I finally got the car, but had to drive 65 miles to get it since the transporter just dropped it off with someone he knew in the area and moved on when he wasn't paid. Throughout this whole process, Countrywide blamed the transporter and they may even be right, but fact is I had paid Countrywide for a service and that service was poor. They chose the transporter...not me. I shouldn't have to follow-up 20 times to see where my car is or have to drive so far from the destination address to pick it up. I could fight for some compensation or at least gas money, but it's not worth the effort. I'll look at it as a learning experience...and I've learned to stay away from Countrywide Auto Transport
