This company was quick to take my deposit of $300 to pick-up and deliver vehicles from CA to CT. The pick-up window was Aug 22-23. After not hearing from them, I called in the afternoon of Aug. 22 and was told my vehicles would be picked up on the 23rd. Mind you, to get hold of customer services takes more than several tries. I also left a couple of messages. Then on the evening of Aug. 22 around 6:30pm, the dispatcher called me and said that the driver's hydrolics weren't operating, so my car was not going to be picked up as planned. We then made alternate arrangements to have the cars picked-up on Saturday, Aug. 27th. (The dispatcher told me the driver was willing to wait in the area for a convenient time for me to have the cars picked-up.) I called on Aug. 26 to confirm, but their phones were down, probably due to the hurricane. I gave them some slack for that. (Why the driver didn’t have my number I don’t know.) On the morning of Aug. 27th, I was finally able to get through, and left three messages - including one for the dispatcher since customer services apparently is not available on weekends. I also sent emails.

For the next few days, I tried and tried again, still no response. I left messages, I sent emails - NO RESPONSE. Today is Wednesday, Aug. 31 and I still have not heard from them. I believe this company is a scam. After a customer leaves a deposit, they provide no other support or services, they don't return calls or emails, and don't even show a good faith effort to have your vehicles picked-up and delivered.

I can't tell you what a pickle this has left me in - we're in the process of moving, and everything was moved out of the house except for our 2 vehicles. I had to make other arrangements because we need our vehicles in California. I had to make 2 extra trips on the train from NY to New Haven, take cabs to the house in Hamden, and drive the cars a relative's house in NJ. This alone has cost me almost $100, and my cars are still on the east coast. I just hope my credit card company will keep their word and not charge me for the $300, because I can't get through to Cross-Country Auto to even request a refund.
