Cross Country Auto claims that the price you are quoted is the price you pay. In my situation they did not deliver on this guarantee and I had to pay $110 extra to get my car shipped from Hawaii. Beth Feldman promised me I would not pay a penny more. In addition the Cross Country staff was ignorant of shipping policies and mislead me about mistakes they made. Overall my experience with CCA was extremely unsatisfactory and I will never do business with them again. I shipped my car out of Hawaii bound for Virginia in late December of last year. I had many choices but Beth made me feel comfortable and promised me her quote was what I would pay. Upon dropping my vehicle off at the port in Hawaii I was told I needed a note from my wife who co-owns the vehicle with me. She had already gone to the East Coast and was not available that day to fax over a note. The shippers (Matson) assured me that this was the law. I called CCA to see what I should do and they said that, this was "new law" and they had never heard of it. I asked Matson and they claimed the law has always been as such. I missed a half day of work to not be able to drop my car off. Then had to miss another half day of work to get the car shipped the next day. Last week I got a call from the transporter and he said he would drop the car off and that I owed COD $860 instead of the $750 that she had quoted me. I got a call from Beth and she said that I should pay the extra money and then CCA would work it out with me. I needed my car and had to pay the extra money, however CCA or Beth have not contacted me since. I guess I am going to have to pursue all my options to get the money back. Just do not do business with Beth or Cross Country Auto as they will scamm you and leave you out to dry.
