My entire experience with this company was a disaster! I called to have a car moved from AZ to MN. I let them know the car was not operable. Received a quote of $825.00 from "Duane" (Several people with this name with VERY different voices work for CCAT!) Destination city changed from Phoenix to Tuscon. I e-mailed "Duane" and asked if quote would be different as a result. He said quote would be the same. Contacted them by phone to set up transport. Was told that inoperable car would be more $ and Tucson would be more $. Told him I had already let him know this information and he said the $825.00 would OK. Gave my information including credit card for deposit and he said that charge including "fees, taxes" was now $900.00. I asked if that was all the charges he said yes and that he would FAX me contract and credit card authorization to sign and return. Received e-mail of signature page of contract but not the first page spelling out terms and conditions and information was incorrect. The page I did receive stated that an additional "fuel surcharge" could be incurred by me if the driver saw fit! It also Listed car as "running". E-mailed him back and ask that he forward complete contract and change information. Never received although he claims to have set three times.
That evening I went to my banks website only to find a pending transaction to CCAT for $200.00!!
I called and demanded that charges be reversed. "Duane" told me that would be fine and that "Lilly" would help me & transferred. "Lilly" wanted me to send something in writing "cancelling" my order and then it would take 7-10 business days for a "refund". I told her that I would not send anything to cancel a contract I never signed. She stated "that was "Duane's" mistake, not mine!" She became very loud and irratable when I told he I would not wait 7-10 days for a refund, but I wanted her to credit my account immediately. I told her to calm down and that it was not her $200.00 on the line and that I would get my bank on the line and that charges could be reversed immediately by her stating that they would refund my $200.00. "Lilly" then proceeded to hang up on me!
I am very lucky compared to most of the people here. I got my bank on the phone and made a three way call to "Duane". As soon as he stated they would refund, my bank reversed the charges. All turned out in the end, but only because my bank was involved.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
