POLICE CONTACTED, MY TRUCK WAS STOLEN

I moved to Hawaii back to Illinois. I contacted DAS from Hawaii to ship my 2014 Nissan Frontier from Honolulu. Dropped the truck off the day I was flying out (7-22-14) and was told would be in Illinois in 3 weeks. I contact them on Friday the 8-9-14 and find out the truck is still sitting in Long Beach, CA.

I tell them this is my work truck and I need it to make a living here in IL, and I can't wait the 3 more weeks they are now telling me to get to IL, so I would fly out to CA and pick it up and drive it back myself. The rep (Stephanie) had no issue with this, and told me she would set that up. I call Horizon Lines in CA to make sure it was all set for me to pick up, and find out that DAS never notified them.

I contact my point of contact in Hawaii, and was told they were not releasing my truck to me, because there "was an issue with payment". The shipment had been paid in full, which is required before they will even put your truck on the boat. Crystal, in Hawaii, became very nasty and telling me I wasn't going to see my truck.

I informed her I would contact the LAPD on Monday when I get there if they refuse to give me my truck. She tells me, do that I want to do, but LAPD wouldn't make them give it to me. WRONG!

I contacted LAPD and told them what was going on, they informed me to file a stolen vehicle report, which I did over the phone with them. They also informed me to contact my lien holder, which I did, and they have told me they are going to go and recover the truck and return it to me. I've had to file a claim with my insurance company, which are looking into this as well. I've also stop payment the payment I made to these crooks.

These people need to be out of business. I will see to it that they are closed. What they have done is theft. The police is looking into it as well. I'm contacting a lawyer on Monday and going after them in court.


BEWARE DO NOT SHIP YOUR VEHICLE WITH THEM... YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!!
