DO NOT USE THIS BROKER! They are unprofessional and run a careless business. I used DIY Transport to ship my car across the country. The carrier they hired ended up giving my car to another carrier (I was totally unaware of this). The second carrier expected to be paid on delivery. They held my car hostage for two day while I tried to work with DIY to figure out what was going on. Eventually, I paid a second fee (an additional $1250!!) to get my car back. After doing some research, I learned that the carrier had no current "for-hire operating authority" with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) following involuntary revocation several months prior to shipping my car and was therefore not authorized to operate at the time that they were hired by DIY Transport. Additionally, the carrier was uninsured. The Carrier's last insurance coverage was cancelled shortly before their authority had been revoked. After presenting this information to DIY, they admitted fault and offered to reimburse me for the additional fee that I paid. However, they dragged their feet for months. Eventually they did send a check, but it bounced (costing me another $12!!!). Its possible that if you hire DIY, your car will get from A to B without a problem. But if anything goes wrong, don't expect them to do anything to help you out. This whole business is shady. My advice: drive your car to wherever it needs to go or sell it and buy a new one. If you must ship your car, DON'T USE DIY!!!!
