I should have known that this was going to be a poor experience because it all started with when I called about my online quote. I received a quote online and recorded the quote number. I called them to set up shipping my vehicle with them, and they didn't even want my quote number. They put in my departure and arrival cities and gave me a new quote which was more then the online quote. I insisted on them looking up my online quote, and the person LIED to me by saying that "no, your online quote is the same as this one." The phone quote was only $50 or so more, so I still decided to go with DAS.

I dropped off my vehicle at the terminal and explained to them that my car has a rotary engine, which requires to be warmed up prior to shutting it off to preclude the possibility of it flooding. They acknowledged this, and I asked them to make a note of it so anyone else who has to start it to move it will know as well, and they said they would make a note.

Two weeks after dropping it off I received a phone call saying that they could not get my car started to get it off the truck at the destination. They said that they tried jumping it and were unable to get it started. I spoke with a DAS representative and told them that if the battery is low that it should be able to get jump started. They told me they would call the terminal and see what else they could do. Three or four days went by and I heard nothing, so I assumed they had to running and would deliver it soon. After a few days, I called them to find out what the hold up was and they said they couldn't get the car started so they were waiting to see what we wanted to do with it. The person at the terminal told me, "it wasn't there problem that they couldn't get it started." Overall, the person at the terminal was rude and not helpful at all.

I had DAS change the delivery address to a mechanic. It still took them three days to deliver it to the mechanic. The mechanic determined that they had flooded the engine. The rotary engine requires new spark plugs, an oil change and a few other things in order to deflood the engine. Needless to say, it was a $460 repair bill.

I filed a claim, and when I spoke to the adjustor they said they had a note on the account at the destination terminal that, "it was running fine upon arrival." This was obviously not true since it wasn't running when it arrived at the mechanic. Ultimately, the claim was accepted, but I am only going to receive $92 after they determined certain items on the repair bill they weren't liable for and their $250 deductible. Overall, DAS only are going to pay for 20% of a problem that they 100% caused and should be liable for. I will NEVER use them again and would recommend NEVER using them.
