(The cost is unknown because my husband's company hired DAS and paid for the shipment.)
The first issue is that our car took a LONG time to be shipped to us. It was over two weeks from the time of pick up to the time of drop off.
The second issue is that when the car came back it had MAJOR damage. The story goes that part of the highway in one state was only gravel, so the truck kicked up "some" rocks. Well "some" in my vocabulary does not amount to over $6,000 worth of damage! I made my claim on August 25th via email. It took 2 full business days for anyone to get back to me, and then only to tell me that they needed to send out their adjustor. The adjustor came out two days later and sent in his claim early in the morning. On September 10th I finally emailed the person in charge to see what was happening and she said that the claim was still being looked at, but she would let me know in a day maybe two. Then on today, the 13th at 1:00pm I decided to call her and see why it was taking so long for my claim to go through. She said that she had be given some files in the morning, and would check if mine were in there. She came back and said that yes it was and that they decided to give us $950 for our damages!!!!!
The reason she said she would give so little is because I did not give specific detail of the damage to the car when I first received it. I clearly wrote most of the damage. I also wrote that the car was so dirty that you could not even begin to see the damage under the dirt. Sure enough after a car wash I found damage on every section of my car!!! But, they won't cover that because I didn't know about every single piece of damage. The woman also said that they would not cover some of the damage because my car was already scratched so they would didn't know where the damage was from before and where the new damage was. Well, the "round" shaped dings and dents in the car were clearly made from the rocks shooting from the car.
This company not only lacks good customer service, they also will not take car of your car when it is shipped. Do not use them. It is not worth the cost it will take to get your car fixed from their "normal transit."
