Online tracking very useful

We had 2 cars shipped, a 2008 Honda Civic with DAS and a 2007 Volvo S60 with another carrier (relocation, so company selected the carrier and paid). So we had an opportunity to compare the service of 2 different auto shippers and service. We used the terminal to terminal service with DAS since both terminals were very close to us. The company-paid auto move was with a company that would have charged me about 42% higher than what DAS but for the other carrier was with a door-to-door service (so it's not an apples to apples comparision) We decided to use DAS for the Civic since it was an older car and we are paying for the move from our own pocket. The experience with DAS was ok - my car made it from AZ to MA in one piece. The online tracking feature was AWESOME, though since it gives visibility - you start to wonder why the car hasn't left the origin terminal for days (even though DAS tells you about the possibility) or why the car doesn't move for a day enroute (mine stopped in NJ for a day and a half). I found out my car arrived at my destination terminal via the tracking and it was 2 days early (which was awesome for me). The interior of my car was a bit dirty - a lot of oil (?) smudge marks in the interior - mat, seat, steering wheel, inside of the windshield, etc.

But if I had to choose all over again, I would spend a little extra and go with the other carrier. They were AWESOME and very proactive. The door-to-door service was on time and it was great as they were flexible with where I was at the time to drop off/pick up. The carrier we used for the Volvo also took the time to protect the interior of the car so that it will not get dirty and give the exterior of the car a wash before delivering.
