I purchased a car on eBay and arranged transportation with their "preferred provider" DAS. I spoke with Bryan Evans on Thursday 5/14 who was very polite and helpful. He told me that the car would be picked up within 5-7 days and would be delivered within 3-4 days after that. So given the fact they were eBay's recommended transporter and I was given such an excellent price I made the reservation.
I was on vacation the following week so when I returned home 11 days after making the reservation I called the seller to see how everything went with the pickup. He informed me that he had never heard from the company and the car was not picked up.
I called first thing the next day and was told the car was to be picked up that day or the next and that I would get a call back which I never received. I called again the following day and they said the car was due to be picked up. The next day I again contacted the seller who again informed me that he still had the car. The following day, 13 days after making the reservation, I called again. At this point I had already spent hours on hold trying to get some answers. I tried to be patient and they finally informed me that "something happened" with the driver and he did not pickup the car as scheduled. They told me they would have another driver and to call back the next day.
At this point I had wasted so much time on the phone and promised the seller so many times the car was being picked up that I had finally had enough and contacted Kurt at Rapture Transport. He told me he could have the car to me in a week. I called DAS and cancelled my order and Kurt indeed did have the car delivered in one weeks time as promised.
The only positive I can say about this company is that I feared I would either have to spend hours on the phone trying to get them to refund my money or that I would have to dispute the charge. Much to my surprise they credited the refund back to my account in only a couple days. Too bad there transport service itself was not as efficient.
Do yourself a favor... do a little research, maybe even pay a little more, and stay away from this company. Trust me, you will be happy you did.
