Undependable Auto Shippers

We recently shipped our Honda Odyssey cross-country from Virginia to Washington State. Our company's relocation arranged for Dependable Auto Shippers to transport our vehicle (or we would have done our research and NEVER chosen such a poorly rated company). When it arrived in Washington, to our surprise it had the spare tire in place of the front tire. The delivery company was surprised that we had not been contacted by DAS about the damaged tire. This was only the beginning of our surprises with the company we have come to call UNdependable Auto Shippers.

In the end, the following parts of the van were damaged: a front tire was gouged, the tire rim was bent, the undercarriage of the van damaged, the alignment was off (obviously), the jack cover was broken (assumably when they put on the spare), the windshield sustained a 2 foot crack, the roof rack was bent, the roof was scratched and dented (which they tried to cover up with OUR touch-up paint which they dug out of OUR glove compartment--they left a trail of other glove compartment items on the floor...they didn't even have enough sense to not leave a trail!), and the front hood was bowed. The only conclusion the collision shop could arrive at was that our vehicle was dumped off the side of the car hauler!!! (Of course, DAS never admitted to that, nor advised us that our vehicle had sustained damage during transport.)

$3000 in repairs and countless hours later (after dealing with rental vehicles and lost work time transporting the van back and forth to the collision repair shop and unsuccessfully trying to get the DAS claims adjustor to return our phone calls and emails) our van is finally back in good condition.

The most frustrating part of working with DAS was how painfully SLOW they were to deal with their claims. Eventually, they did pay for all of the damage done by their company (but not after a lot of inconvenience and persistence.) I finally had to resort to contacting the manager to get any results.

I could NEVER recommend Dependable Auto Shippers.
