My story begins with DAS promising to pick up my newly purchased Porsche possibly two days after I contacted them, which would have been on a Friday, or Monday at the latest. Keep in mind this was mid-November in Minnesota. They eventually got around to picking it up a week (or week and half later) on the following Tuesday.

If you anything about Porsche you know that if they sit they are tempramental about starting and need a little coaxing. Unfortunately, the driver assigned to pick up the car obviously knew nothing about Porsche's and put the accelerator to the floor, ultimately giving it too much gas, thus blowing the popoff valve and starting a small fire in the engine.

Next, sometime during transit someone tried to break into the car with a screwdriver. When I picked up the car the keys would no longer go into the door locks. Also, at some point the passenger side mirror was broken off by the driver. To cover up his mistake he reattached the mirror with electrical tape, then put electrical tape around the driver side mirror, presumably to make it look like the car was picked up that way. I got an estimate from my factory trained Porsche mechanic and the damage cost over $2600 because of the valve damage caused by the exessive gas.

Finally, I filed a claim with DAS for the damages and although they were in possession of the vehicle when all of this happened they denied my claim with the exception of $55 for one of the mirrors.

For those of you thinking about shipping a car I would never trust it to DAS.
