Demanding Carriers, but Broker was Friendly

My GF was actually doing the majority of the setting up for the transport. She contacted Bob at DCAT and he was very helpful. He handled all the up front work adn setting up of the carrier.

It was once the carrier got secured that the issues started arising. Once the carrier confirmed, he called the day he planned to pick up the car and started demanding times to to make the car available for pick up. Since my GF was working (nurse hours, unitl almost 8PMl), we told them that they would have to wait til the next day to pick up. He lacked communication with DCAT, we told Bob that we wouldn't be able to do anything about making the car available that day. The carrier started asking where he could get it that day, that night, saying he would pick it up at her work (how would she then get home), he would meet her at 10-11PM (single female meeting a trucker at that hour, I think not), etc.The carrier kept pushing the issue, and once he finally agreed to pick up the next morning, then finally told her that she needed to drive the car about 5 miles from her house sicne his truck wouldn't fit down the street. We werenew to this experience and didn't knwo what to expect. We felt he could have handled the problem with someone shipping their car for the first timemuch differently.

Once the car was loaded, the transport took approximately the estimated time. The carrier was to arrive on Tuesday. The driver was in Cali on Tuesday, but said that he would be dropping it off late that evening since he was across town.

No call all evening, even after leaving the carrier several messages. He finally called back saying that the car was transported to a smaller, local driver to deliver. The local guy never called. We finally got in touch with him on wednesday at 5PM. we told him that we were leaving town on Thursday and would not be around to get the car until we returned on Monday.

He said that he could not meet us anywhere to get the car. Finally, we asked him where he was located and drove out to Glendale (25 miles) to pick the car up at 8:15PM. The driver spoke little english on the phone and less in person. He did do his job, but it was difficult to communicate with him.

I would say that theydid the job as priced and explained, but the communication was poor and could be improved upon.
