Direct Express Auto Transport

I sold my 1996 Honda to my brother. Looked at many online quotes and looked extensively at this website, and Direct Express seemed to have very high ratings at a better price ($725) than some of the other top ranked transporters.
I called at 2pm on Monday. The operator, who was very cordial and careful, took my information, and then explained I'd receive both a confirmation email and then an email with the name of the transporter selected, and that they would pick up in 1-7 days, with 5 days for transport. I also stated the car was available for pickup immediately.
At 2:13 pm I received my confirmation email. At 3pm I received an email with the shipper's name --Sam's TransportXXXand a phone number. It was good I received a phone number because less than 15 minutes after I got the email I got a call from Sam, saying he would be there to pick up the car IN AN HOUR. I quickly rushed home from work, took the old plates off the car, called my insurance company, and made sure it was ready.
An hour later, Sam called again--he was on the main street in front of our street, which is narrow and has a weight limit much less than a carrier. I drove the car to the main street. Sam loaded the car on the transport, his assistant (wife?) handled all the paperwork, gave me my receipt and a business card, and were off by 4:45pm.
So, let's review this timeline: I called to arrange transport, and 2 1/2 hours later, my car is on the truck on its way! I'm sure this was the luck of when I called and when the transporter was in the area, but that they could actually arrange things so quickly when it was available is a testament to the company and how they work.
Another thing that worked well with Direct Express was paying the $150 in advance by credit card and then paying the driver for the balance. Since I was selling the car to someone else, they could pay for the bulk of the shipping themselves. I also appreciated that the driver didn't get paid until the vehicle was delivered. A lot of companies seem to charge the entire amount in advance, and then they have your money and your car.
So I express the other keys and title to my brother on Tuesday, and it arrives Wednesday. I get a call Wednesday afternoon that he's gotten the car! In two days. From New Jersey. Everything went well on the other end. The only issue was that the car was filthy--but this is clearly due to the inclement weather along the way, and the open carrier used. I do not blame the carrier for this at all.
All in all, I was very impressed with their professionalism and logistics, and how quickly everything went for a very fair price. I would definitely recommend this service again, and they'll be the first I call in the future.
