I have done this before with other carriers, but the previous company I used Professional Moving Solutions got lower stars on more recent reviews, so I suspect quality declined somewhere in the process. I decided to go with Direct Express Auto Transport since the most recent reviews were from clients who were very pleased. I just went to their website, logged in my info and the only time I talked to someone was when the driver called me to set up pick up time frame.
Things to consider as the sender/recipient: 1. Ask driver what kind of trailer he will be using to pick up car. Pick up may need to be on a street that has enough room to accommodate the trailer. 2. Have cash in the bank ready for the balance when vehicle is delivered. Usually initial deposit is a lot smaller than the balance. Initial deposit can be charged to credit card, mine was $159.
Points for Improvement: Pick up time could be coordinated better. Although I did get an email informing me of approximate pick up date and driver did call me late afternoon on the day of pick up, there was still a lot of anxiousness prior to pick up because the email says that pick up day is not exact. I would like see some communication via email or phone notifying me where my place is on the pick up schedule at least 1 day ahead. I would have a better idea of how to plan my day.
Overall: I would recommend them!
