We had very positive first time shipping experience with Direct Express. Shipping our son''s car from Florida to L.A., we got a $700 quote. We paid $150 to Direct Express via credit card on internet. Direct Express then brokered our transport to trucking companies in the area. Within one hour, we were assigned a driver/transport company (JS Transport Services) who was actually ready to pick up the car before we were ready to turn it over. No problem. One call, and the car was reassigned to another transporter, C&K Express Lines. You get a tracking number and can always call the transporter or Direct Express. I''m told the Florida - California route is well used, and that''s why we had no wait in getting an assignment. You may have to wait longer for an assignment on less travelled routes. Our driver arrived after giving us 24 hours notice for pick up, he was professional and polite. He examined the car and gave us a receipt. The car was taken and we checked in with the trucking company a few times over the next few days and followed the progress. Our son received the car about 7 days later in L.A., with a few hours advance notice. He paid the $550 balance in cash to the driver, which feels weird in a cashless society, but all was cool. The car was fine, and we''re all happy with the service. We would definitely use Direct Express again.
