I shopped the web a bit to find a reputable, reliable, and economical carrier to transport my brother's car to me from California ti Illinois. I eventually decided to go with Direct Express Auto Transport because I was a little familiar with long-haul carrier operations, issues of liability, damage, attention to details, and customer service, and found them to be all that, and very economical as well. The value was confirmed when I received numerous other bids for the same service that were hundreds of dollars more, but without the sense assurances of the type of service Direct Express conveyed.
What was important and reassuring was the early and constant direct phone communication updates just prior to pickup to my brother (shipping) and to me a day before arrival and the day Ed the driver arrived in my town. He kept us informed of ETA and what to expect if he could or could not get close to our street based on weight and zone restrictions, if any. Ed was just a GREAT driver, friendly and knowledgable, and extremely courteous. I get a sense Direct hires out the best quality and value carriers and the best carriers have very good drivers.
I would recommend them to anybody transporting a valuable car across the country when you want it to be safe and secure.
