This was the first time I had ever shipped a car, and my initial impression after searching the internet was less than positive. Everything seemed to support the idea that I am going to get "surprised".
After much reading and searching (especially on Transport Reviews site), I found Direct Express Auto Transport. On their web site, I was particularly impressed with the owner's philosopy of doing business. I also noted the fact they have been in business for a long time relative to other companies in this industry. I chose to trust what I read on the site.
Their quote was slightly less than others, but was in the ball park of reason when I considered how they try to hit a reasonable amount the majority of the time. I'd have to say this takes an amount of experience. As it turned out, the quote was successful to acquire a transport.
Overall, from customer service to performing a service as advertised, I cannot find any fault. It is refreshing and worthy of recognition to know that companies do exist which do what they say and practice excellence. In my opinion, if this company continues to do business as I experienced, they will be around long after others have failed. Honesty is at the heart of what I witnessed and I believe the temptation to tell you something you want to hear in this industry has to be great. They avoided the temptation and told it like it was. As it turned out there were no surprises, other than pleasant memories.
On a final note, I am guilty of not always taking the time to share good experiences so that someone else might be able to make an informed decision. This is one of those cases as I had put off writing this review. This morning, I received an email from Direct Express which asked me to comment on my experience. They did offer a small rebate for the comment. I tell this story to explain why I am REFUSING the rebate. It is more important that others know this is a company I would trust to do further business without shopping around. I thank them for asking me to submit a review because (in my opinion) the transport reviews site is only as valuable as the comments it shares with the public. I am greatful for this review site since I used it extensibly to make my decision. It is my pleasure to submit this experience for others to consider when selecting a transport company and it is my statement that Direct Express did not bias this review by offering a rebate which I did not accept.
