I opted to pay a little more and use a broker I felt comfortable with. It was about $100 more than my cheapest bid. Here's what I got: Saturday pick up at my door by a flatbed tow, ontime Friday delivery to Atlanta at my office during business hours via car carrier. Professional drivers on both ends. What I liked about using Steve's company was his open and honest demeanor on the phone, the promise of no backend charges from the driver, and the comfort of knowing this guy has been doing this for more than a little while. AND no corporate BS. Moving is stressful enough without worrying about your car - I did not worry about my car. Complete piece of mind.
The Volvo arrived in perfect condition and on time - maybe even a day early - slightly dirty from rain - but that is what to expect from an open carrier. Other companies had quoted me a 14-21 day window from LA to ATL and I would have to drop it off and pick it up at a designated lot. Steve gave me an honest estimate of about a week.
Paid a 20% deposit for pick-up and the balance upon arrival. Completely hassle free all around. Will use him again when it is time to ship back west.
