I used DAT because I felt comfortable with them after having spoken with the owner's son and being reassured that the company was an honest one.

I was in constant contact with my main contact there. I let her know on the first available pickup day, it was not available until after 6PM. The driver called and said he was enroute in the morning, and that he had never been notified that it had to take place after 6PM.

5 Days later, a second pickup was setup. The car was picked up successfully. The driver called and setup a dropoff and was there at the prescribed time.

Unfortunately, apart from a small line at the bottom of the transport confirmation (literallly, below all other text and graphics in the email,) we were not made aware of the fact that our credit card was not actually the method of payment - it was only there for deposit purposes. This left the 18 year old recepient of the vehicle to scramble around a town that he just moved to in order to take $300 out of his own account while the driver stood in the middle of a crowded street and waited on him to get the money.

I believe this is a huge problem on the part of DAT, and one that should be present and stated in every communication with the customer, rather than in the fine print of the last email received before delivery.
