I got 5 quotes from different companies. This company was the second lowest, and after talking to four of the 5 I decied to go with them because they explained why not to make a deposit before booking a transport, that they had great reviews (I did look here first). David gave me an initial quote in Mid April 2010 to move a Mustang from Cali, to Iowa.

In June I called and ended up with Alex. He told me it was going to cost $725 to get a quicker response and explained how the "network" went about choosing who, what, when, where how and why cars got moved. After the dates were chosen, Alex calls me 4 days into the 5 day window and said that he had got a truck but the driver wanted ANOTEHR $50 on top of the already increased price to move it. It wasnt my decision as the tribute car was being paid for by someone else.

Alex told me that he didnt increase the price that I agreed to move it up because I "could have" left it at $650 but it would have never gotten moved. Two weeks later after not hearing from him I called him and we had a heated discussion about how he has no control over the truckers and that there isnt any reason my car shouldnt be moved after all it was in the top 10 in price to be moved, that there just wasnt anyone going that direction from California and that I should have just paid more and that I was being stingy so on and so on about more money would have been better. Alex even stooped to using vulgar language like he was going to scare me into giving him more money to have it transported, telling me" look Im not here to baby sit you and call you every day to tell you bull $h!t stories like the other companies and feed you $h!t to keep you with me, I own this company and I get $h!t done!"

I ended up giving him two more weeks, and I called State to State Auto Transport. The owner of State to State told me that he hasnt seen a car get moved at that price in a long time, and that we were number 42 on the list not top 10 and that we would probably NEVER get it moved in this economy. He quoted me a direct contract price with his carrier to pick up 3 days after our call for $995.

I made some calls to donors for this Tribute Mustang (for CPT Raymond D. Hill II KIA in Baghdad Iraq in 2005) and got the car to be paid for and explained to State to State the circumstances and they nocked $50 off the price. We had the car picked up, dropped off all with no haggle and no BS bait and swap pricing in less than a week with them.

I will NEVER condone using Door to Door to anyone, and I will continuously and emphatically put this company in the light it deserves anytime anyon asks me about car shipping. I belong to three car clubs and am a very active participant on 4 vehicle websites dealing in classic cars and will make it heard that this company is not the company to deal with.

For the record this quote was sent out by an employee that has been fired due to his tendency to underprice or "low ball" his clients. Mr. Hill was told about his underpriced quote but chose to stay at that price. As the owner I informed Rod that his previous agent had been fired for offering low prices he knew would need to be raised to get moved. He then accused me of pulling a bait & switch and refused to move to a correct price. Even at the ridiculous price I was able to find two carriers to pick up his vehicle but only for an aditional $50. Again Mr.Hill declined and said "he was contracted at $725 and thats what he is paying". Passing up on those 2 trucks was completely his choice and it ended up costing him an additional $270 with another company just to get the car moved. Rod had every oppurtunity to have the car transported within his time frame but chose to delay by not wanting to pay the actual price.
