Good Broker but extremely rude and unprofessional driver(carrier)

Contacted DoorToDoor on 09/22 to ship my vehicle from Syracuse, NY to Tampa, FL.

DoorToDoor is a broker and a carrier and I was hoping they would ship the car using their own trucks since I had a terrible experience with another broker(Viking Auto Transport) earlier.

The price quoted was $685 and even though this was $100 more than other brokers, I felt DoorToDoor would ship the vehicle in their own trucks rather than contract to the other carrier, which they did(Rob and Judy Transport - R&J).

I was told I will be getting a call from the driver when they are dispatched to pick up the car(once a driver is dispatched, DoorToDoor will charge the credit card for the deposit).

09/23/2011 : Received no call from the driver that he was dispatched and would be picking up the car.
09/23/2011: Received a call from the private seller in NY that my car was picked up by someone.
09/24/2011 - I called R&J and left a message and no one returned my call.
09/25/2011 - I called R&J again and left a message and no one returned my call.
09/26/2011 - I called R&J for the third time and someone said that Rob will call back.

09/26/2011 - Rob called back sometime in the evening and said he would deliver the car that night, I said we were out-of-town and won't be back until next day morning and that I tried calling 3 times to schedule a time for delivery and that this was the first communication that occurred - Rob was pissed, upset and mumbled that he would make other deliveries(I just had a bad feeling at this point)

09/27/2011 - Spoke to Rob at 9am. he said he couldn't deliver the car to my door but rather would meet at the nearest highway exit. I told him that's alright and also told him that I have to visit the ATM to get cash and will see him around 10AM.
Rob at this point was extremely unhappy with me(he was like you are making me wait), since the ATM was along the way I stopped by first and said hello to Rob and told him to give me 10 more mins to get cash and will be back. I had hoped this gesture would calm his nerves but didn't.

Met Rob at 10.30AM and the first thing he said was - sign the form here and give me my damn money. I was totally shocked and stunned. he said the f word and said I didn't care.

I was NOT given an opportunity to do a complete check of the car, the car looked dirty and there were several scratches on the car(they were minor but this was a used car as well) but the whole experience has left me with a bad taste and top if it - had to engage a friend to drive the car for 5 miles from the highway exit to home.

I know its not DoorToDoor Transport fault but DoorToDoor had a choice in selecting the driver and am hoping they do not choose R and J Transport going forward.

If they do choose R&J transport, please decline their services and save yourself from rude/unprofessional driver.
