This was my first time shipping a vehicle cross-country. I Received multiple quotes, and chose to go with Door to Door because of their positive reviews & offered me the best price. When I filled out the vehicle info, I put that it was in "non-op" status due to the brake pedal going to the floor, but the vehicle did run & drive, just had to use the parking brake to stop. I spoke with JR at Door to Door who seemed helpful & knowledgeable. He once the deal was set, he said he would call me when a driver is assigned to the route, and would be a 3-4 day window. (this was on a Thursday) and I was fine with that. (This is were I didn't give a 5 star) Fast forward to Wednesday, I get a call from my dad saying the driver is 3 hours out (he's in Ohio-I'm in AZ) and I'm like I had no idea. I never got a phone call or email, no voice mails-nothing, I had no idea a driver was assigned yet, let alone 3 hours out. This put my dad in a pickle since he was an hour out of town and couldn't get a way that fast and the vehicle still needed to be packed with a few things. He made it home with 20min to spare, but was unable to load the vehicle with some of our stuff. The transport was unable to go into a residential area. (kinda figured) The actual transport driver was from J & P auto, he was a very nice guy, but he had no idea about the brake pedal issue, since Door to Door didn't pass that info along to him. All in all, I would use them again, but communication from Door to Door needs improvement. The Driver from J & P auto had great communication and was easy to work with.
