I've never shipped a car before, and getting something mission critical right the first time can be nerve-wracking. I received a lot of quotes for this job, and chose to talk to Door to Door specifically because they were not trying to be the lowest bidder (a practice which makes me nervous). The transport went off without a hitch, and they were even able to accommodate a very tight, last minute pick-up within a day or two.

The driver was extremely courteous, calling me numerous times while en route through my city, letting me know of traffic accidents and his progress. I live in a large metropolitan area that is frequently congested, so I wasn't surprised he was being held up, just surprised he would keep calling me to tell me. I felt he was as concerned about getting me the car as I was about getting it.

The car arrived dusty, but unharmed by transport. The driver even apologized for the dust, explaining he had to pick up cars off a dirt road. Honestly, I never expected a car to arrive clean from a cross-country trip so that didn't bother me in a least.

Just today, my rep from Door to Door called to ask my opinion of the whole experience, a follow-up action I greatly appreciated. Something of this magnitude could have been a nightmare, but it wasn't. Door to Door was honest, fairly-priced, prompt, and courteous.

My only criticism would be their availability. I received a few emails over one weekend letting me know a driver was available, and, if I could get back with them immediately, there was a possibility my car could be transported sooner than expected. Only, I wasn't ever able to get anyone. I replied to the email. I called the number. I left messages. Not until business hours on Monday was I able to reach someone.
