I selected Enclosed Vehicle Transport (EVT) after doing extensive research of the various options for shipping my car across the country. EVT was more expensive than most of the quotes which I received. However, when it comes to shipping a car across the country, you get what you pay for. EVT ships cars in fully enclosed trailers (2 or 3 cars maximum per trailer), with no terminals and no off/on loading. In other words, once your car is loaded, it stays on the truck until it is ready to be unloaded. This is very important because the greatest risk of damage to your car is during the loading and unloading process. EVT gives you a written contract which makes you feel secure. Many other shippers who are essentially brokers will send you a contract that exonerates them from any liability once the car is loaded. Why? Because they contract out the shipment of your car to another company. So, if something goes wrong, you have no recourse against the broker. Instead, your recourse is against the shipping company with whom you have no written contract. Good luck if anything goes wrong. Not so, however, with EVT. EVT's contract makes it clear that EVT is responsible if anything goes wrong. EVT is fast. EVT shipped my car across the country in four days. EVT ships high end cars and understands the care which must be taken in shipping them. The driver with whom I dealt (Perry) was very courteous and professional. My contact person at EVT (Chris Funk) kept me posted on the progress of my car's shipment from start to finish. Best of all, the car arrived in Santa Barbara in exactly the same condition it left North Carolina -- freshly washed and shining. The entire process could not have gone any smoother. Would I use EVT again? Without hesitation. And, I highly recommend EVT to anyone else.
