Couldn't Do the Job

I made arrangements on Aug 31st to ship a car from Tampa area to Maine. I obtained multiple quotes and this company was mid-pack but I had seen some positive reviews on epinions (as well as some not-so-positive). They have a nice website, midpack pricing, and pleasant customer service staff. In fact, of the 20 times I called them over the next 3 weeks, they were unfailingly polite, chatty, and totally unable to schedule my transport. Each time I was reassured that it would happen "soon", that they were adding some of their own money to the transport amount as driver incentive, and this would just require patience. After 3 weeks of this and no truck scheduled, I finally wouldn't hang up until the customer service rep finally said that in her opinion, this job probably wouldn't get done as it wasn't for enough money and there usually weren't trucks going to Maine. I was willing to be patient, but it was clear that this transport wasn't going to happen with this company. I realize that Maine is not a common destination, but the company could have been very upfront with their inability to arrange this job, rather than the constant stalling and false promises. If I wanted pleasant conversation on the phone, I have lots of friends I can call. If I want a car shipped, I'd call another company next time.........
