I was quoted $769 to ship car from NY to CA. Flofield was the broker, they then find a trucking company. I selected standard pickup on the contract Standard pickup is defined as 5 to 10 days from 1st available pickup date. I was called by a trucker asking to pick up car on 1st available date. Trucker had another pickup 30 minutes from our house. I said yes, thinking this was convenient to all. When car was delivered to my college student daughter in California ( I am in NY) 9 days later, she was told there was an additional fee due of $175. While she waited for car, I called Andy at Flofield. He said car had an expedited pickup, and this was the additional fee. If I refused to pay it, the car would not be delivered, and would be put in storage. I called my daughter and directed her to go an ATM to get more money. I feel we were held hostage to something I never agreed with. My daughter had a midterm exam in 2 hours, we had no choice but to pay. Andy told me to read the contract carefully. Well I read it, and I my attorney has read it. It is not my responsibility to tell the trucker not to pick up my car because he is too early for standard pickup.
I was never advised of any additional fees. I believe we were treated unfairly, and my attorney is sending a letter of complaint to the NY State Attorney Generals' Office. I intend to take Flofield to small claims court, and file a complaint with Paypal, and The Better Business Bureau.
I was also given a $500 gas card which appears to have a lot of gimmicks attached. There is a $10 registration fee. You must purchase $100 of fuel at one brand of gas station each month, then you get back a $25 dollar gas card ( for each $100 spent) to be used at that brand name station . Therefore you have to buy $125 a month in fuel.
I did not have a good experience with this company. I believe I was overcharged, and I will never use them again.

unfortunately the customer has to do something to redeem the gasoline redemption certificate, he did not think that we could afford to pay for this and still give him triple a service . I do not know what he thought but the gasoline redemption certificate was fully explained. This customer requested a pickup date of 10/31 and it was picked up on that date, we should have charged $300.00 expedited fee [as per signed contract] and we charged $175.00, he begged us to get the car to his daughter quickly, since she needed the car and then he would send another car for his x wife to the same destination.
