I had a week in the US to make arrangements to transport a car to my son in college. I used a website to get a quote to transport my vehicle and I received over 20 emails from brokers. I reviewed the brokers that gave me a quote that was in the middle. I decided to go with Rob because his company had pretty good reviews. Rob explained to me that all brokers have access to the same data base, and they are trying to find a driver that will transport the car for that price. Even if he had good reviews, I was still worried because there were so many bad reviews of other brokers that stop taking your calls once they receive the deposit. I paid the deposit and returned to Korea. Luckily, we both had iphones so we communicated through imessage. He confirmed the pickup and delivery date. Then I didn't hear from him for a while.
Five days before the pick-up date, I received an email from another broker that said, "If you don't have the insurance details and number for of your driver, your broker has not found a driver for you. Please contact us and we will transport your car on time." I panicked because I didn't have this information yet. I texted Rob and asked when he was going to give me the number for the driver. He said it was still too early. I still wasn't 100% at ease, but there wasn't anything I could do because I had already paid the deposit, and I was no longer in the country to make different arrangements. 3 days before the pickup date, Rob texted and said he found a driver, but it would be $100 more. I said, "no." He said he would keep looking. The next day when I woke up, there were several messages from Rob saying he found a driver for $50 more. Since he couldn't get a hold of me, he gave the driver my son's phone number. From that point, the driver and my son communicated. The driver said he really wanted to take the car and that he could accommodate our schedule. He said it would be no problem. So we decided to go forward.
However, the driver was NOT an honest person!!! On the day of delivery, my son received a call from someone asking him to come and pick up the car. But the car was 40 miles away! The guy told us that the driver just dropped of the car and left and that we would have to pick it up. When my son contacted the driver, he said that Rob told him to drop the car off! We contacted Rob and he said he did no such thing! So now we had a problem because my son didn’t have a way to go and pick up the car. Rob said he would take care of the problem and he did! The next day, someone dropped the car off at my son’s school. I am not 100% sure, but he may have had to pay the guy out of his pocket to drive the car to my son. I really appreciated the fact that Rob didn’t drop the ball, but provided excellent customer service to the end! Because we had a 16 hour time difference, I was always texting him after 10 pm his time, but he was always prompt with his replies.
If you are looking for a company to transport your car, I would highly recommend Rob and his company. They are trustworthy and provide excellent customer service.
