Checked for a transporter~this company had a great price and reviews. We were satisfied at first with the handling of the transport. We were told that the vehicle would be picked up on 10/7/07~NOT picked up! We had our contacts at the other end waiting all day~inconveniencing them as well as us~worrying about the status. We made several calls to the company, and two e-mails, no answer. Finally, after leaving messages on voice-mail, we got Amy. She said that the driver just did NOT pick up our vehicle, with NO explanations given, and that he was fired on that day! She offered to give us our deposit back, we said no, we still would like you to transport. After calling again, she finally told us that she could not find a carrier, and that there were "too many snowbirds" going down from New York to Florida, and that she could not follow through on the shipping of our vehicle. She also stated that she was putting $100 of the deposit money to entice another carrier, but to no avail. We are also out of the money we paid to an upholsterer to do the interior of the auto. We made the appointment at her word. She said it would be picked up on that Sunday. We feel that these are internal problems with this company, and the customer should not be held hostage because of this. It is very unfair. She said that she could still ship, but it may take a month or more, and she refunded our deposit. We found this out by accessing our e-mail. Within the next 1/2 hour, we found another transporter who would do the job at the same price, and guarantees his work, and did not find that particular sihipping situation with the "snowbirds" valid.

We did assign a carrier to load the vehicle on sunday the 7th and when i called them the next day to do a follow up they advised they were not going to be able to load the vehicle as there load had fallen through.. i asked why they did not call me and they could not give an answer to that so i was at a loss of what to tell the customer. when i called them i advised of the situation and that i was doing everything i could to schedule another carrier asap and i would even put 100.00 of my money into it to help entice another driver or i could cancel the order and refund the deposit... i work on scheduling another driver but unfortunately i was having trouble because of the amount of vehicle in NY going to FL... yesterday when i spoke to the customer i had given them the option to cancel and get the entire refund or i can still work on it and i told them i could only be a few more days or another week before it would be loaded just because of what is going on it NY. i apologized for not being able to facilitate the transport and said i would cancel the order and get your refund processed right then and that is exactly what i did. i never entended not to move the vehicle i made every effort to do so and unfortunately i was not able to at that time. the customer will always recieve there refund if i am not able to facilitate the transport as it states in my contract and i follow that by the book. thank you, Amy GT Auto Transport Inc.
