Transport a brand new Mercedes S550 and cost $7500 in damages

ou better think twice and prepare for the worst if you want High End Transport to transport your car as I had the possible worse experience with High End Transport Inc.
As a courtesy, my Mercedes Dealer offer to transport my new S550 from San Diego area to San Francisco Bay Area. They hired High End Transport, Inc. to transport the vehicle.
The day I supposed to receive car. The transport driver call me and told me the front bumper of my new car came off while he unloaded my car to get another car out. The drive said he was just going to the Mercedes dealership to get the bumper back on, trying to sound like the damage was minimum. Mercedes dealership ask him to drop it off at their authorized auto repair shop and I meet the driver there. I took a quick look at the damage and it was extensive. Initial estimated cost was around $6000!
I called High End Transport and indicated the damage during the transport and they said they will talked to the driver and get back to me. Next day, I received a call from them and initially they tried to blame the damage was caused by me!!! Even though the car never delivered to my house. Only after few days of investigation, they then admitted the damage was caused by their driver.
Insurance from High End Transport then called me that they will try to repair the bumper instead of replacing with a new one, even though the car is brand new, and agent kept on saying the bumper was repairable. It took insurance few weeks to get settle on the cost and then found out from the bodyshop they couldn’t repair the bumper.
I asked High End Transport, what am I going to drive when the car is in the repair shop? The new car was to replace my old car which just stopped working. They said they take no responsibility that I don’t have a car to drive. Ended up, I had to fix my old car so I have a car to drive.
3 months after the car was damaged by High End Transport, my car is still in the shop waiting for parts! I’m just hoping my old car will stay alive long enough till my new car is fixed.
Will I ever recommend High End Transport? No!
Lesson learned:
1. Be sure ask them who will transport the vehicle. They can sub-contract the job to independent operator. Watch A&E's Shipping wars" to see what could happen to your valuables when they transport them.
2. Their company name is call High End Transport, but they really doing low budget transporting your car.
3. Be sure your vehicle carries rental car insurance as High End Transport will not offer rental vehicle if your car is damaged and needs repair. You are on your own!
