We bought a car in NC that we needed to ship to my in-laws. I was so confused and not a little scared about using a broker to hire someone I would probably not trust. I was doing tons of research and kept choosing companies, only to find horrible reviews or multiple claims on the BBB's website. Then, I decided just to search carriers who ran up and down the east coast and found Ken of J&D Trucking. I emailed him at 11pm on Tuesday night to see when he might be passing through. Turns out he was making a run and was in Georgia. He emailed me at 6:30 am the next morning and told me he could pick up sometime around noon depending on my address. I was so excited, since we wanted my in-laws to have their car before Christmas if possible.

I agreed to his price of $600, as he would be making a special trip up to Boston to deliver the car, and otherwise, he wouldn't have just been planning on going up to CT. I thought, though, that I was happy to pay an actual driver more money, vs a broker taking up to a 50% cut, which I didn't like.

As soon as I emailed him our address he gave me a 1-1:30 time frame for that afternoon, Wednesday. Ken was right on time. He is a nice, respectable looking man, whom I trusted. He told me that he would be delivering the car at about 7 am on Friday morning unless the coming weather got in the way. In that case, he would stay home Friday and go up to Boston Saturday morning. The weather was fine, so he delivered at 6:45 Friday morning without any problems. My in-laws were extremely excited. All-in-all, we are completely satisfied. I'm so glad I went with Ken for the transport, because with a broker, I could still be waiting for a pickup right now and biting my fingers in nervousness over the whole matter.
