I contracted with Countrywide Auto Transport to take my car from Virginia to California. See my review of their service separately. Countrywide offered a slightly early pickup by K-1, which I accepted. Due to no fault of his own, their long-distance driver, Albert, could not arrive at my house at the 8 p.m. hour the dispatcher, Jun, originally stated. Albert and I kept in contact by cellphone, and he eventually arrived at midnight. I consider that to be exceptional service, above and beyond the call of duty. Albert was extremely professional and courteous. He even advised me about the best route to take to California, considering the winter season.

The car was delivered by Mel, a sub-contractor with a smaller rig. He, too, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I expected him at 8 p.m., as indicated by Jun, but he did not arrive until the following morning. I should have obtained his cell phone number from Jun. I cannot fault Mel since he was driving from L.A. to S.F. with a substantial rig.

My only problem with K-1 was that Jun's voice mail box was full so I could not leave him a message. Their service was as promised, and their staff/sub-contractor were excellent.
