I recently moved to MA. Due to delays in start time of my job, I had to change the pick up date of my vehicle 3 times. Each time, King of the Road was accommodating and did not charge me for changing the dates when they could have. Please read the contract for this as there is a charge.
When the driver arrived, he was friendly and asked for no money. He said whatever was discussed is the price and will be dealt with upon delivery of vehicle. He and I looked over the car, checking for dents, scratches and noted on a contract which I signed and received a copy. He then loaded the vehicle and off he went.
By our agreement, I was promised 5 business days to get my car. Since it was Thursday, I was not expecting it until the following Thursday so I WAS SHOCKED to get a phone call from the driver on Monday indicating that he was already in MA and delivered my vehicle at noon!!! I guess another tip would be to have your vehicle shipped at the end of the week and maybe you will get lucky and your driver will decide to drive over the weekend.
The car arrived dirty, but that is expected when there is rain involved. There was no damage or new scratches or dents. I paid him the agreed amount in cash as per our agreement and shook hands. He gave me a receipt for the transaction and we parted ways.
I will use King of the Road again should I need to ship my vehicle and I hope that they recorded the name of the driver as I will request them to transport my vehicle.
I hope this helps the next person who has never shipped a vehicle to alleviate their concerns and help them to decide on a company to trust. It was my first vehicle to ship, too. King of the Road also encouraged me to look them up prior to selecting them and also gave me tips on what to expect from a good company...they do not take money up front, the same driver delivers your vehicle...were some of the most important things.
