I had a great conversation with Vito Hunter on December 2,2015. I told him I had received a quote from Frank at Liberty for $700 to ship my car. He checked and came back with a quote of $690 and we agreed upon a date of Jan 3, 2016 for pick up. Today 12/30/15 Vito called to confirm the pick up..great.....Not so fast... The price now is $780.... Oh, no that's not right it's $850. How can you raise the rate by $160 days before the scheduled pick up. I have the $690 quote in writing. It was explained to me that the higher rate was due to the holidays... Did the holiday change this year? Did Vito not know that Jan 3 came shortly after New Years.... Maybe it's different this year!! I asked to speak to his supervisor who told me I had 2 options, I could accept the new rate or cancel the shipment. Well, now I'm stuck scrambling trying to find a new carrier....now I'm not sure I trust any of these carriers!! How sad that this has been such a horrible experience. Maybe if I wanted to ship my car in May I could get this rate...looks like we'll be driving!
