This was my first time doing something like this. I live in Miami and needed to get my car transported to Texas. So I looked on this sight and got several different quotes from various companies here. Of course I did my due diligence and researched the companies.

The prices ranged from $475 to over $800. I wanted to save me so I got a call from Brad who works in Lightning Auto Carriers. He sold me on the price, which at the time was the cheapest, but he mentioned to me that they are insured and to check out this site and see for yourself. So I decided to use them.

For the people that have not ever had a car transported. You get charged a deposit. I got charged $100 by Lightning Auto Carriers. LAC then puts your car information and price of moving your on the national trucker's board. So since I got a quote of $475 the truckers that are interested in my car would get $375 for moving my vehicle. That's how the business works. LAC is a broker only. They just charge you for putting your car information and price on the national board.

Anyways I had my car picked up on time just like LAC said. The individuals were that picked up my car were very nice and did a full inspection of my car for scratches and dents. I had to sign the paper saying yes I agree that those are my scratches. So when it gets to the destination and there is a scratch we would check the paper that I signed and if the paper, which has a cartoon picture of my car, does not have a marking in the illustration than I can claim that the transporter dented/scratched my car. But that is how that works.

I signed the paper on Monday when they picked up my car. The transporters then took my car off. They said it would be there on Saturday but the latest would be Sunday. I ended up getting the car on Sunday night around 8pm. The car was in one piece and all was well. I checked the vehicle and there were no extra dents or scratches besides the ones I already had.

I definitely recommend LAC. They informed me about everything I needed to know and were right all the way through the process.

BUT if you really want to save money I suggest you contact the truck drivers themselves therefore you can avoid the broker and not pay that deposit of $100. Contact A1 Transport. That is the truck driver that transported my car. His name is Eduardo and Oscar. The drivers will personally charge you less and you are insured just like if you went with LAC.

Anyways good luck getting your car transported!
