I found MJ Parker Trucking using Angie's list. They had the best rating and offered the most competitive quote of the approximately 10 companies that I had contacted.

I made the arrangements on Thursday and they managed to schedule my car for pick-up on Tuesday. You have to pay a deposit when you book of about $105. The pick-up driver was courteous and well-mannered, parking at a strip-mall about half a mile from where I live. Sometimes they can park on the street outside of your house, but you have to live in a development that can accommodate that size of truck.

I was informed that the car would be taken to a central depot. I believe it was somewhere in Iowa but I cannot be certain, and it will be very dependent on where your car is being picked up from.

The original delivery date was 10 days from the pick-up date (the Friday of the following week). I received a call on the Wednesday informing me that the car was being delivered to me on Thursday, a day early.

The car arrived very dirty, but it had been driven on the truck through Los Angeles and down to San Diego. You can't expect the delivery driver to find somewhere to wash your car for you in every city. The delivery driver was very nice and courteous and provided me with a receipt for the cash I paid him upon delivery. You have to provide the driver with the balance of the fee upon delivery of the car, either by cash or cashier's check.

Everything about the experience was good. I would use the company again and would certainly recommend them to friends and family.
