I have used vehicle transport services on two occasions in the past, and both times my vehicle was damaged. So I was on high alert when I went shopping for a company to transport my brand-spanking new all-electric Nissan Leaf. The Leaf is a bit different to drive, so I wanted it top-loaded so the driver would likely not have to move the car to load other vehicles. I had the car picked up at the dealership in Arizona and dropped off at the dealership in Maryland, and inspected on both ends.

Magic Carpet was very attentive and responsive during the contract and negotiation phase, but dropped off after I had committed. I emailed my contact there several times but mostly my email messages were ignored. But on the phone they were responsive and helpful, and business was generally wrapped up quickly. Another issue for me was that my contact did not make it clear to me that I would have to pay the driver the balance (about $750) as COD. Fortunately I was already in the destination area, and was able to get a cashier's check to the dealership in time. I was under the impression from my conversation with my contact there that the full cost would go on the credit card. I mentioned this concern to folks at Magic Carpet, and they insisted that they had explained this properly to me - maybe I missed it, or maybe they didn't say it. But on the important stuff, Magic Carpet did a fantastic job. The car arrived in perfect condition, the driver was excellent, courteous, and kept me updated on the status of the delivery. He allowed extra time at the pickup so that the technician could show him how to operate the Leaf, and reassured me that it would be top-loaded and not moved again during the trip. So on what really mattered, I give Magic Carpet highest marks. When I signed up with Magic Carpet, they told me they'd give me a $30 rebate if I left a review at transportreviews.com, regardless of whether the review was positive or negative. I emailed after the car was delivered to find out how to collect the $30 rebate, but my email was ignored, as in other instances. I thought I'd leave a review anyway, even though they didn't come through with the $30 rebate! So use them, but plan to use the phone, not email!
